Why it worked

The video leverages a new, potentially algorithm-boosting feature on a popular platform, providing a clear, actionable tutorial. It also highlights an underutilized aspect of the platform (stories) as an opportunity for creators.

Summary

This video explains how to use TikTok's new "text" feature to create posts that are more likely to be pushed to the For You Page. The creator advises users to post these text-based updates to their stories rather than their main feed for increased visibility.

Structure

1Introduce the new TikTok text feature
2Demonstrate how to use the feature
3Explain the importance of timing and relevance
4Advise posting to stories for better reach
5Encourage testing and sharing results

Product placement

TikTok (app): A social media platform where users can create and share short-form videos. It ACTS as the platform for the tutorial, and its features are being demonstrated. Removing it would make the video impossible. Coach Robert (creator): The person making the video. He merely APPEARS and speaks. Removing him would change the video, but he is not a product.

Call to action

Send it to your stories. That's where the extra push is happening right now. Stories are getting way more recent, people realise, and hardly anyone is using them. That's opportunity. Do this once a day. It takes maybe 60 seconds. Stack those story views, build the momentum. And if you run this test, drop a comment and tell me how it goes. Alright? Let's go test this.

TikTok just gave us the cheat code. And if you're not using this today, you're already behind. This is what you're gonna do. Open up TikTok, hit that big plus sign like you're about to post, but don't record anything yet. Swipe over to text. Now type one sentence. Just one. Keep it simple. It could be a reminder, a question, something about summer 2026. Anything. Y'all, TikTok loves timing. Fresh, relevant, current. Now hit next. You'll see a few textures pop up. Pick one and keep it moving, y'all. Don't sit there trying to make this perfect, alright? You can add sound if you want, but honestly, just let TikTok pick it for you. Now here's the part where most people mess up. Don't send it to your main feed.
