Great question! Both types are popular for dorm use, and each has its strengths when it comes to reviews: Mesh Shower Caddies - Generally slightly higher rated overall - Consistently earn 4.5-4.7 stars from tens of thousands of reviewers - Praised for fast drying (mesh allows airflow, reducing mildew and odor) - Loved for being lightweight and portable - easy to carry to communal showers - Many can be tossed in the washing machine for easy cleaning - Top-rated picks like the Attmu (21,000+ reviews, 4.6 stars) and EUDELE (7,000+ reviews, 4.7 stars) are dorm favorites Plastic Shower Caddies - Strong reviews for structure & organization - Typically earn 4.3-4.6 stars - Praised for rigid structure that keeps items upright without tipping - Easier to wipe clean but can trap water at the bottom if drainage holes are small - Better for heavier product collections (large shampoo/ conditioner bottles) Bottom Line: Mesh caddies tend to win slightly on ratings - largely due to their quick-dry properties, which matter a lot in shared dorm bathrooms. However, plastic caddies rate very well too, especially for those who prefer a more structured, bin-style organizer. For a dorm specifically, most experts and reviewers lean toward a mesh caddy for the portability and mildew resistance. Sorry, something went wrong. Paid partnership

Moving back to college this year sounded so easy until I realized that I somehow needed to get an entire apartment's worth of stuff. And I need ideas for makeup storage because I'm not bringing my vanity out to school with me. And I really didn't want to spend hours researching every option. So I tried shopping Amazon with Alexa in the app and it has changed the game for an indecisive shopper like me. After asking for the best options for beauty storage on top of a desk, it gave me recommendations based on my previous orders and then compared each option without me having to open 20 different tabs. I can just keep asking questions and narrow down what makes sense for me and my specific situation. And I can add it to my cart or wishlist and move on instead of getting stuck comparing the same five products forever. I can ask for a side-by-side comparison, which typically gets better reviews, a mesh or plastic shower caddy? Great question! Both types are popular for dorm use, and each has its strengths when it comes to reviews: Mesh Shower Caddies - Generally slightly higher rated overall Consistently earn 4.5-4.7 stars from tens of thousands of reviewers Praised for fast drying (mesh allows airflow, reducing mildew and odor) Loved for being lightweight and portable - easy to carry to communal showers Many can be tossed in the washing machine for easy cleaning Top-rated picks like the Attmu (21,000+ reviews, 4.6 stars) and EUDELE (7,000+ reviews, 4.7 stars) are dorm favorites Plastic Shower Caddies - Strong reviews for structure & organization Typically earn 4.3-4.6 stars Praised for rigid structure that keeps items upright without tipping Easier to wipe clean but can trap water at the bottom if drainage holes are small Better for heavier product collections (large shampoo/ conditioner bottles) Bottom Line: Mesh caddies tend to win slightly on ratings - largely due to their quick-dry properties, which matter a lot in shared dorm bathrooms. This is exactly what I needed because I'm going to feel prepared for moving in and not spend three weeks researching different shower caddy options. So this back-to-college season, be sure to shop Amazon with Alexa.
