THE THINGS 👇🏼 If you’ve been feeling stuck in a job you know isn’t right, but still can’t seem to make a change… if might not be for the reasons you think. I know because I’ve lived this. I stayed in a career I knew wasn’t right for me for years before I actually left. At the time, I couldn’t really understand why I was finding it so hard. And I see the same things come up again and again with high achievers I work with. 👉🏼 Here are 5 of the biggest ones: 1️⃣ You’ve worked hard for the salary, the benefits, the stability, the flexibility. Even the things you barely think about now suddenly feel very valuable when you imagine giving them up. 2️⃣ You know what you DON’T want anymore, but you have no idea what you want instead. And it’s very hard to leave something familiar when you can’t picture what you’re moving towards. 3️⃣ Your career has become part of your identity. You’ve spent years building your title, reputation and expertise. Walking away can feel like you’re losing a part of yourself, not just changing jobs. 4️⃣ The world of work is changing incredibly quickly, especially with AI. It’s genuinely hard to plan your next move when you don’t even know what your industry will look like in a few years. Staying where you are can feel safer. 5️⃣ And honestly, starting again sounds exhausting. Updating your resume, applying for jobs, interviewing, proving yourself to a whole new group of people… when you’re already drained, it’s very easy to keep putting it off. None of this means you should quit tomorrow. But if you’ve been wondering why you KNOW something needs to change and you still can’t seem to make yourself do it, start by figuring out what’s actually keeping you there. Because once you know that, you can actually do something about it. And if this resonated, you’re in the right place 💛 Follow @reallifeceo_ for more content like this. #millennial #burnout #career #motivation #corporate
