👇🏼 The strange thing about outgrowing a career is that it doesn’t mean you made the wrong choice. You probably wanted it once. I know I did. I worked really hard to get into the career I thought I wanted. I was ambitious, I wanted to do well, and the path felt pretty obvious: work hard, get promoted, earn more, keep progressing. Until it didn’t. At some point I realised I didn’t really want the next version of the career I’d spent years building. The problem was… I had absolutely no idea what I wanted instead. And when you’ve spent years getting really good at one path, questioning it can be incredibly confusing. Especially when, on paper, everything is going well. I’ve made some pretty big career changes since then, and one thing I’ve learnt is that figuring out what’s next rarely starts with finding the perfect next job. It starts with understanding what’s changed, what you actually want now, and what success looks like for the person you are today. That’s a lot of what I talk about here.
