I bought the Z Fold8 and here's what I think after 2 weeks Almost two weeks now so five things I love and five things I don't. The bad stuff first. Number one is this should have come with an S pen. Like the 4 by 3 ratio is amazing, absolutely love it. It would have been so good with a pen. Like it's basically a mini tablet. I think leaving that out was a real oversight on their part. Number two is it feels really delicate. Now, bear in mind this is the first foldable I've ever owned. So part of this is probably me just feeling like it's delicate, but it's such a thin phone, like there's nothing to it. I don't feel like I can just chuck it around and like wipe it on my clothes or like right down on the desk like I can with my iPhone. Hoping that goes away once I've used it more and I'm not babying it so much, but yeah, for the first two weeks, feels very delicate. Number three is case options suck. And I don't mean that in the sense of the cases on the market, but just how cases work for foldables. At the moment, I've got one on the back and nothing on the front. It feels unbalanced, especially when it's open. The front bit, it just loses the appeal of being like a slim, slim phone. I think leaving that out was a real oversight on their part. Number four is the cameras. And the themselves are like I, problem not lens now for me I've, iPhone. I've still got like cameras, wasn't a, but to like the average person who this device. They're only camera. Tele lens does suck, especially at the price point. It brings me to my final thing I dislike, which is the price. Now I don't think necessarily it is but it is expensive. I paid, I think $1700 for this, which for a phone is kind of ridiculous. Like, doing what I do for a job, I can justify it, but for the average person, that's a lot to spend on a phone. Even for me, it's a lot to spend on a phone. So yeah, I price against means now what I do honestly. This, so number one is customization. Now I haven't done a load to it. I'm still used to how Android works. Been an iPhone user for such a long time, but everything I've done so far, I've been able to. I can customize my icons. I can change the layout of everything. I can set pretty much anything up to do what I want, which I think is really, really cool. And I think a lot of people that switch because they don't actually figure out everything it they're from my but spend get used. Okay, so number two is, ironically, the cameras. They are nowhere near as bad as people are making out to be. So the wide and the ultra wide, they are good as they are on that. I've tested photos, JPEG, raw, video log on both and honestly, it's pretty at like I remember the last Samsung I had was the S23 Ultra and it was, hated the camera. It was, load like processing over sharpening the time, horrible. But this gets rid of a lot of that, especially if you're editing the raw photos. Nice. Cameras aren't anywhere near as bad as people make them out to be. Number three is the form factor. Like it is just perfect. I was really on foldables like that. Foldable became a because other than to run the same apps at the same time, didn't appeal to me at all. But this makes such good use of the screen. Like for that's Lightroom. Like I've photo big easily see and controls. Would be pen but yeah, it watching reading stuff. It's such a good form factor. Is what made me buy this. Like I had no intention of buying affordable, but the form factor got me. Number four, which I know people are gonna argue about, but the crease is non-issue. Like lights and yeah, you can just about see it. I get the argument against. Remember a couple of years ago when like the early folds and Samsung's like, like in the shop and saying to my friend, like, that would be annoying to use, but this is like I don't notice it using it. Occasionally see it lighting, but it's, it's such a non-issue. And lastly, this is the first phone in a long time that has excited me in any way. Like I've iPhones for the last 10 years, right? They're all right. Each time they get a little bit better, not revolutionary. Whereas this, I'm excited to pick it up. I'm excited to unfold it. It's just fucking. So yeah, that is my thoughts after almost two weeks.
