On August 5, 2013, brothers Connor Barthe, 6, and Noah Barthe, 4, were sleeping at a friend's apartment in Campbellton, New Brunswick, when an extraordinary tragedy occurred. The apartment was located above an exotic pet store, and a large African rock python escaped from its enclosure and entered the building's ventilation system. Investigators concluded that the roughly 14-foot python, weighing close to 100 pounds, traveled through the ductwork before falling through the ceiling into the room where the boys were sleeping. Both children died, while their friend, who was sleeping in another room, survived. The incident raised questions about how the snake escaped and how such an unusual attack could occur. Police ruled out another person being responsible, and the snake was later euthanized. The pet store owner was charged with criminal negligence causing death but was found not guilty by a jury in 2016. #truecrime #analoghorror #animalattack #canada #python
