RULES AT MY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (THAT WILL SEND PUBLIC SCHOOL KIDS INTO A SPIRAL)

Rules at my Christian University that will send normal public school kids into a spiral. Let's look at everything she says through the lens of biblical patriarchy and the church's control. Liberty University literally this Friday, so I thought this was the perfect time to talk about it. But anyways, let's get into it. Rule number one is we have a curfew. It's a midnight curfew Monday through Thursday, and then on the weekends, we get 30 more minutes. So it's 12:30. Even though this applies to both male and female students, this is all about patriarchy. Because when we look at this through the evangelical lens, their interpretation of the Bible is that the highest authority comes from God, and when it's not from God, it's from men. And unsurprisingly, there is a male president and a primarily male board of trustees that run Liberty University. And so they view their students as an extension of their own children, children who cannot make their own decisions because that would be to challenge the church's authority. They have to make all these decisions, they have to control every aspect of their children's lives, like in all these sign-out sheets that she talks about. It would literally be an attack on their masculinity and perceived sense of authority if these students had more control in their own lives. Rule number two is guys and girls can't be in the same dorm, like ever. Because obviously premarital sex is a sin and premarital sex can result in unplanned pregnancies, which could result in abortion, which is also obviously a sin. And obviously men and women could never just hang out platonically and be friends because the evangelical interpretation of the Bible is that women tempt men and men have to resist their desire to make with women whenever they're alone with her. Also, this is kind of just my two cents on it, but the whole point of the church is these individuals, meaning in life, like they cannot find meaning in other places because then they could start to question the church. And good sex and meaningful connection could cause them to question the church, so they have to keep men and women separate because that could prompt questioning. Because also you'd be like, wait, so good sex and meaningful connection is like, why is that something that I can't have? Rule number three is dress code. So you can't like show your midriff or anything. Same point. Their understanding is that women tempt men by just existing. And the evangelical interpretation of the Bible is that women tempt men and men have to resist their desire to make with women whenever they're alone with her. Rule number four, off-campus sign-out sheet. If you want to stay like off-campus, you have to either stay with like a married couple or like just another girl. Like there's like a sign-out form you have to sign out like 48 hours before you like say over someone's house. Because the school sees itself as the highest point of tangible authority in these people's lives and has to be in charge of making every decision for them so that they become reliant on the church. Anyway, here's me with my tits and my midriff out. I can't imagine needing to be dominated by the patriarchy so badly.
