When Genesis showed off the Neolun concept two years ago, I fully assumed these B-pillar-less coach doors were just show-car theater that would get scrapped the second real-world crash tests entered the chat. Turns out… they actually built it 😭 Genesis calls this engineering feat the Neolun Arch Gate. You can press a button, motorized-swivel the front seats 180 degrees, and hang out in an open-concept lounge with radiant-heated real wood floors 🥵 Knowing how the engineering actually works, would you trust it? The entire middle pillar from its new flagship SUV. What happens if you lower the GV90 Neolun. And after playing around with these coach doors, watching the front seats swivel around, finally, I figured out how this works without being a total safety nightmare 😱 The entire point of losing the center post is for this moment right here. The motorized seats swivel a full 180 degrees to face the back row. Basically turning the cabin into a giant uninterrupted five-foot open space when both doors shut. I'd strength dual steel beams lock them inside them into the roof and floor sills to become a half missing. A frame that's one and a half times thicker than normal. A hidden roll cage inspired by race cars. And the world's first roof airbag above my head. And Genesis basically completed a whole PhD in crash physics, so you can turn your SUV into an open room. It works. Would you trust it?
