The Jehovah’s Witnesses used many forms of manipulation. In my opinion, one of the biggest ones is the manipulation of your mind and thought. They make you believe that Jehovah can listen to your thoughts no matter what they are and will judge you off of that. An odd thing that they require you to do is to tell on yourself. Let’s say you thought a thought that you weren’t supposed to think and you thought it a couple of times well they would require you to go to the higher-ups and confess that which would lead to negative repercussions for you. Another one is going door-to-door. You are required to go door-to-door and spread the word of God but if you for any reason didn’t want to go or your heart wasn’t in it, the possibility of you not making it into God’s new kingdom because you were doing it for false purposes, it could be negative for you. Meaning you wouldn’t inherit God‘s kingdom. They instilled this in your mind over and over and over again to the point where you don’t even notice that you wholeheartedly believe it. They also isolate you from the outside world, so everybody that you know is a part of the religion, so you are constantly fed the narrative in every situation of life. That is mind manipulation.
