Visits are not sales. A second firm, Similarweb, puts Takealot ahead of number one. Number five is Bash, the Foschini group's fashion site, on 4.75 million visits. Almost every one of those visits comes from inside South Africa. Number four is Shein, the Chinese clothing site, on 6.64 million visits. Shein sells hard through its app too, and apps are not counted. Number three is Amazon South Africa, on 10.49 million visits. It opened here only in May 2024, so it built that in two years. Number two is Takealot, on 11.14 million visits. It is the biggest online store owned by a South African company. Its visits dipped slightly from May. Number one hit 18.73 million visits in June. That makes it the twelfth most visited website in the country. Not the twelfth biggest shop, the twelfth biggest site of any kind. It beat Takealot by over seven million visits. The store is Temu.
