10 hard topics to discuss before deciding if you’re ready for marriage 1. Money. Debt, spending, saving, joint accounts, lifestyle expectations. Love doesn’t make financial incompatibility disappear. 2. Kids. Do you want them? How many? When? And what happens if having them isn’t as easy as you hoped? 3. How you’ll raise them. Discipline, values, education, culture, religion and who takes on what. 4. Family boundaries. How involved will your parents be? Holidays? Financial support? And whose side do you take when family crosses a line? 5. Division of labour. Cooking, cleaning, appointments, childcare and the invisible mental load. “We’ll figure it out” isn’t always enough. 6. Intimacy Your needs, frequency, affection, boundaries, what makes you feel desired and how you’ll handle seasons when intimacy changes. 7. Career + sacrifice. What if one person gets an opportunity interstate? Who compromises? What if one earns significantly more? 8. How you fight. Can you disagree without insults, threats, disappearing or punishment? And can you actually repair after hurting each other? 9. Your non-negotiables. Cheating, substances, friendships, privacy, social media, porn, opposite-sex boundaries. Don’t wait for the boundary to be crossed to define it. 10. What marriage actually means to each of you. What does being a husband or wife look like? What do you expect to give, receive and build together? Marriage isn’t just “Do we love each other enough?” It’s also: “Can we build the same life, handle the hard seasons and keep choosing each other when love requires work?” Comment “READY” if you’d love to discuss this with your partner before the big moment 🤍 #healthyrelationship #marriage #couplegoals #feminineenergy #selfgrowth
