The longer I work in AI, and with AI, the more I realize that forward deployed engineering is gonna be, like, the only thing that's left. Understand this. You really need to understand, like, why businesses are even structured the way they are. Everything is put in place so that information can flow freely and quickly. But if we're saying that we're building all these context layers and all these knowledge bases that's able to index every single source of information that exists within a company, then you no longer need that structure. That's why middle management is getting ripped away from all these different companies. Only thing that truly matters is just delivering value. For deployed engineering, FDEs, they're the only ones that are actually doing this right now. They're the ones that talk to customers. They're the one that go and figure out what people want and then come back and build it. And this is the role. This function is exactly what's gonna exist across the board. Whether it's marketing, sales, engineering, product, it doesn't matter. It's literally just gonna be one person with a bunch of AI agents going and talking to customers, figuring out what they want, and then delegating that to AI agents for them to build. Nothing else is gonna matter in five to 10 years.
