The most popular role in tech right now is the forward deployed engineer or product person. If you're new here, I talk about the human side of AI. A forward deployed engineer or product manager is one that is embedded inside an organization and helping them to not only implement AI but also identify use cases and real customer problems where AI would be most suitable. The reason this role has become so popular recently is that we've moved beyond experimentation stage of AI. And at this point, organizations are looking for real ROI and impact from their AI investments. The role of these forward deployed engineers is to deeply embed themselves inside an organization so that they can understand the workflows and business needs really well and then decide what solutions and what areas are best for AI. So if you want to keep your skills competitive, the best thing you can do is become multidisciplinary. So if you're an engineer, start learning to understand the business and become more customer facing. And if you're a product person, become more technical and make sure you become hands-on with AI.
