This beautiful lady went to a salon hoping to start her Grey Blending journey, but unfortunately it didn’t go as planned. After that, she had two other consultations. One stylist told her absolutely no way, and another did a test strand that apparently broke off and told her the rest of her hair could do the same if she bleached it again. She ended up sharing her story on TikTok… and all of a sudden I kept getting TAG after TAG after TAG. 🥹 People were commenting, “Go to Shanelle!” “She can help you!” “She specializes in this!” I can’t even explain how happy that made me. 🤍 Not because I think I can magically do everything, but because it means so much that you guys trust my work and my experience enough to recommend me. So of course I had her come in for a consultation on my day off… and then I find out IT’S HER BIRTHDAY?! 😂 Yeahhhh… there was absolutely NO WAY she was walking out of my chair with orange/yellow hair on her birthday. We talked through everything, and I explained to her that even though she already had test strands done, every hairstylist works differently. I wanted to do MY own test strand, with my products, my technique and my approach, and see exactly what her hair would allow me to do safely. And when I did that test strand… OH. MY. GOD. 😭👏🏼 She lifted ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! And the best part? Her hair was NOT ripping off. The strand still felt healthy and strong. With K18 Mist, the right technique, and my years of experience knowing how to work with compromised hair, her test strand gave me so much more confidence about what may be possible for her. That right there is why I will always do my own testing. Someone else’s test strand doesn’t automatically tell me what MY results will be because products, technique, timing and experience can make a difference. And because it was her birthday, I told her, “You’re getting pampered today.” 😂🤍 I gave her a complimentary blow-dry and toned her hair just enough to cool down that warmth and make her feel beautiful again. I purposely didn’t take her too dark because the goal is still to hopefully do her full Grey Blending transformation soon. This is exactly why I always say: Grey Blending is a specialty. Not every head of hair should be approached the same way. Her hair had already been heavily bleached in areas that, in my opinion, didn’t necessarily need to be touched. Sometimes it’s not about how MUCH hair we can bleach , it’s about knowing what needs to be lightened and what needs to be LEFT ALONE. Now she’s in my chair, and my goal is to protect what we have, make a plan, take our time and get her as close to her dream hair as her hair safely allows. 🤍 Thank you SO MUCH to every single person who tagged me in her video and trusted me enough to send her my way.
