A client flew all the way from North Carolina to sit in my chair for her Grey Blending appointment. ✈️🤍 We had the entire day booked just for her. But I want this video to be more than just another before & after. I want it to be an educational moment for my fellow hairstylists. DON’T PANIC WHEN THE REVEAL DOESN’T GO EXACTLY HOW YOU EXPECTED. Today we achieved exactly what we discussed—we blended her hair beautifully into her natural grey grow-out, and she loved the actual color. But going from years of warmth to seeing yourself COOL and grey for the first time can be a HUGE emotional change. Sometimes there are tears. Sometimes there is shock. And that doesn’t automatically mean you did something wrong. Grey blending is so much more than a formula. You’re helping a woman see herself completely differently after years of coloring her hair. So LISTEN to your client. 🤍 Even if you followed the consultation. Even if you matched her natural grow-out. Even if technically everything went exactly as planned. Your job isn’t finished until your client feels comfortable and confident. We talked. We listened to each other. We understood where that uncomfortable feeling was coming from, and instead of panicking, we adjusted. We went back in and added more brightness around her hair so she could still embrace her natural grey while feeling brighter, softer and more youthful. And THAT was it. 🥹🤍 At the final reveal, she absolutely LOVED it—and so did I. That’s why I always tell hairstylists: don’t panic. Be patient. Listen. Adjust when needed. Grey blending is a PROCESS—not only for the hair, but sometimes emotionally for the client too. And remember… her hair may get TIRED, but that doesn’t mean it’s damaged. 😉 As we continue this journey, her hair will continue getting stronger and healthier.
