A FLOCK CAMERA MISREAD ONE LETTER ON A LICENSE WHICH LED POLICE A COUPLE AND PULL THEM OUT OF THEIR SUV AT GUNPOINT, LEAVING THEIR ONE MONTH OLD BABY IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS HAPPENED IN SHERWOOD, ARKANSAS. BODYCAM FOOTAGE OF A DRIVER AND HIS GIRLFRIEND BEING HANDCUFFED DUE TO A FLOCK CAMERA ERROR HAS GONE VIRAL. THE VIDEO SHOWS POLICE IN ARKANSAS MISTAKENLY PULLING OVER AN SUV BECAUSE ITS LICENSE PLATE WAS FLAGGED BY ONE OF THE CONTROVERSIAL LICENSE PLATE READERS AS BEING STOLEN. OFFICERS HAD THEIR GUNS DRAWN AT THE VEHICLE AS THEY DETAINED THE COUPLE, WITH THE MAN'S SON AND THE WOMAN'S ONE-MONTH-OLD CHILD STILL IN THE CAR. FLOCK CAMERA READ THE CAR'S LICENSE PLATE WRONG BY ONE LETTER. "Y'ALL ABOUT GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK." SORRY FOR PULLING YOU AND YOUR 1 MONTH OLD CHILD AT GUN POINT, DRAGGING YOU OUT OF THE CAR, CUFFING YOU AND YOUR BOYFRIEND IN THE MIDDLE THE PLATE WAS APX 55Y INSTEAD OF APX 55X THE CAMERA READ YOUR LICENSE PLATE AS "APX 55Y" NOT "APX 55X." WHOOPS! 12:35 PM AUG 10, 2026 16.6K Reply Read 980 replies Copy link THE CAR AS STOLEN AND SET OFF A HIGH RISK FELONY STOP. THAT MEANS GUNS DRAWN BEFORE ANYONE EVEN WALKED UP TO THE WINDOW. THE COUPLE HAD STOLEN. FORTUNATELY, BOTH OF THEM REMAINED CALM AND COLLECTED AS POLICE INVESTIGATED THE MATTER FURTHER. THAT'S WHEN ONE OF THE OFFICERS DISCOVERED THAT THE LICENSE PLATE OF THE VEHICLE WAS "APX55X" WHEN THE PLATE OF THE STOLEN CAR THEY WERE LOOKING FOR WAS "APX55Y". THE BORDER AROUND THE CAR'S LICENSE PLATE JUTTED OUT IN A WAY THAT OBSCURED PART OF THE LAST LETTER. AFTER REALIZING THEIR MISTAKE, THE OFFICERS RELEASED THE COUPLE. THAT SAID, THEY COULD HAVE CHECKED THE SUV'S LICENSE PLATE FIRST BEFORE DETAINING THE COUPLE IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND THE BEST PART IS THE OFFICER'S OWN EXPLANATION ON HIS BODYCAM QUOTE, NO, STOLEN. IT'S ONE LETTER OFF. THEN HE BLAMED IT ON, AND I QUOTE AGAIN, AI OR AI OR WHATEVER. A FAMILY HAD A GUN POINTED NEAR THEIR BABY BECAUSE OF A AI OR WHATEVER. PROBLEM WITH LETTING THE MACHINE MAKE THE FIRST CALL. IT GETS ONE NOW INNOCENT PEOPLE HAVE GUNS POINTED AT THEM. SEVERAL ARKANSAS TOWNS HAVE ALREADY RIPPED THE CAMERAS OUT.
