When you're told the cause is “unknown,” I don't believe that's where the conversation should end. Autoimmune disease is incredibly complex, but I want to understand the entire environment around the person: exposures, infections, stress, sleep, nutrition, and anything else that could be influencing immune function. A diagnosis tells you what's happening. I still want to keep asking why.
