8 YEARS OLD… and this Ford wet belt was STILL in perfect condition 😳👀 This van came into SMC Van Sales & Mechanics for a wet belt replacement the belt hadn’t been changed in 8 YEARS. When we stripped it down, we were expecting to see signs of deterioration… but the belt was in perfect condition. 🤯 But here’s the important bit 👇 Just because a wet belt looks good doesn’t mean you should gamble on it. Age, mileage, service history and using the correct engine oil all matter when it comes to we ANOTHER ONE FOR HATERS. I've got another one here that's in good condition. A 68 plate van, 53,000 miles. So that's 8, 9 years old. Belt still in good condition. Very small signs of delaminating. Not bad at all. Teeth are all still intact. This man has maintained it as you should. 10,000 miles, 12 months. It's been serviced. Anything this man's needed is had. And his belts? Absolutely fine. A new belt overdue on the he was unaware. He saw our video. He'll be good for another six 60 to 80,000 miles. He took our advice. Booked back in in belt done. That is the proof that if you maintain these, they are absolutely fine. Everyone out there saying, 'Arrr, 30,000 miles, they you need to, 6,000.' This has been done every 10,000, 12 months. Belt is 8, 9 years old. 53,000 miles. Just look after the wet belts will last.
