After almost 4 years of freelancing, I've become much more intentional about the clients I reach out to. I used to think I had to apply to anyone who was hiring. Now, I prefer to look for businesses that fit my skills, working style, values, and the kind of life I want to have. For me, it's not just about getting a client. I want to work with a business that's already generating revenue, has room to grow, and where I can actually make an impact. And yes, I have my preferences when it comes to location, business size, communication style, and even shared values. These are my personal criteria based on my experience - not a formula that everyone needs to follow. The more experience I gain, the more I realize: You're not just looking for a client.
