part two of increasing your tolerance for judgment. Hi divas, in this section we're talking about increasing your surface area and how that allows you to not only bring in more blessings, but also allow the judgement to flow right through you. So let's talk about surface area. The more visible you are, the more opportunities people have to form opinions about you. Maybe you post online, or you lead a team, or you play a sport, or you make art, or you speak up in your family, you dress loudly, whatever. The more of yourself that you put out into this world, the larger your surface area for judgement becomes. And tolerance is partly built through this exposure. I spent years in corporate tech where feedback is constant from clients and managers. Metrics, reviews, targets. Whereas my partner is an artist, he's a painter. While his work is absolutely judged, I would say more often than not, that's done behind closed doors where nobody actually says it to his face. Sometimes there are critics who do, but it's quite rare. And the feedback system around an artist is just very different than one that happens maybe in a corporate setting where feedback is just 24/7. Or think about being on a sports team. You are constantly getting feedback. You're constantly being judged. So your skin is incredibly thick. Having thick skin isn't what is going to keep you bulletproof from judgement though. I think that it just is a matter of when you receive more feedback, you learn to not treat all of it equally. Take what you need, leave what you don't. If it comes from someone that you trust, who has wisdom, and you want that wisdom, it can show you a blind spot that you may not be able to see. If it comes from someone whose opinion isn't relevant to your life, you can just leave it there. But what if random judgement absolutely wrecks you? That's useful too. Clearly it landed somewhere tender. But having this larger surface area for judgement also means you have a larger surface area for connection and building community and for blessings and miracles. To be quite frank, when you're putting yourself out there and you're generating energy, it is bound to come in your direction in a positive manner. If you're working towards something that you love, even if it means you're constantly exposing yourself, yes, that opens you up for judgement. And if the judgement comes, let it baby. Continue to be yourself and to not allow yourself to be smaller through said judgement. Because staying true to you is going to open up the right doors. And if you can take that judgement, point it inwards and see why do that hurt, you will slowly but surely create a system within yourself that allows you to not hold on to the judgement, but to let it go right through you, in and out. If you are so good at sports and someone says, ugh, horrible athlete. You wouldn't give a. Okay? Because you're like, I'm literally a good athlete. So how do we start building a nervous system where judgement comes? It don't matter. Nervous system. Padda? Ha ha. Should I be a poet? Should I rhyme? So what are we gonna do? A surface area large. That's okay. Don't be scared. Be yourself. I don't care. I love you. Yeah, divas! Yeah! Okay, part 3, we're gonna talk about rethinking embarrassment and, like, how we need to do more embarrassing shit. But that will come later, okay?
