Here are some designer bags that I personally will never buy and what I would buy instead. Just as a disclaimer, these are just my opinions. If you own any of these bags, I am not judging you. I'm just sharing my thoughts on what's worth my money and why I think so. First, we have the Chanel 25. I love Chanel as much as the next girl, but this bag, I just never saw the appeal in. What I would buy instead is the Songmont Gather bag. It's so much more minimal and timeless, and it's practical enough that you can wear it casually or even to the office. Next bag that I would never buy is the Goyard Saint Louis tote. This is another bag that I just never understood the hype for. It's literally canvas and I feel like they're charging so much money for it. Instead of this bag, I would buy the Longchamp Le Pliage. It's such a durable bag, it's waterproof, they repair it for you if needed, and I also love that it has a zipper closure because it keeps all my belongings protected. Then we have the Polene Cyme tote. While this bag is truly beautiful, I just can't get over the quality issues that Polene has been experiencing. I would rather buy the Yuzefi Mochi tote. Price-wise they're both the same, but the quality and the leather on the Yuzefi tote is so much better. Personally, a better bang for my buck. Then we have the Balenciaga Rodeo bag. While I do love the structure and the silhouette on this bag, I cannot justify paying almost 6k for a bag that is honestly very unassuming. Instead, I would get the Zephyr bag from Bobore or the Rialto tote from Fabrique. Both of these bags have excellent quality, craftsmanship, and leather at a fraction of the price. Another designer bag that I personally would never buy is the Bottega Andiamo. There are so many brands that do woven leather better that the Bottega pricing is really not justified. Instead, I would rather get something from Bembien. Their bags are handcrafted by artisans in India and they donate 10% of their proceeds to the Nest, which is a nonprofit organization that helps weaving communities. For the price point, I just feel as if I'm getting a better design, better value, and a better brand story.
