Hey guys, come spend a morning with a D1 runner girl with me as a D1 cross country athlete. Except right now, my training looks a little bit different. Normally, my morning start with a whole bunch of miles, but I'm currently rehabbing a little foot injury, which is literally so annoying. But that just means that we're getting a little bit creative because injured or not, I still got to stay fast. But one thing about being an athlete is that you got to learn how to work with your body, not against it. So right now, the goal is keeping my fitness up and getting to a really good aerobic session and doing everything I can to come back healthy and get ready to run fast. So after getting extremely humbled by the arc trainer, I headed back to the track locker room and I changed out of my sweaty workout clothes into a new set of workout clothes and then I headed up to the athlete dining hall. Low key breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day, which honestly works out great because one of the most important parts of being an athlete is fueling. And fueling after a workout is so important, especially while rehabbing my foot, I need my body to heal and it can only do that if it has fuel. Also, I love just sitting down with my team and getting to yap for a bit and then prepare myself because guess what? The morning is not over. Yeah, cardio was just part one. Now it's time for strength training. Strength training is actually a huge part of being a distance runner, which I feel like a lot of people don't realize, but yeah, get your lift in and then go to the training room because that's where I'm doing my rehab. And that is a morning in my life. Now off to class.
