Boneyard Bistro is closing its doors after more than 20 years on Ventura Blvd. Owner Aaron Robins just announced the last day will be September 12. The spot opened in 2005 and became known for slow smoked BBQ (hickory for the Southern stuff, live red oak for the Santa Maria style), plus hand tossed pizzas, cheesesteaks, burgers, and a deep whiskey and Zinfandel list. Here's Aaron's full message to the community: "After more than 20 years, the time has come to say goodbye to Boneyard Bistro. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every person who has walked through our doors, shared a meal, celebrated a milestone, brought their family and friends, and helped make Boneyard what it became. This place has been so much more than a restaurant to me, and I'm incredibly grateful for the memories we've created together. We still have a little time left, and I'd love to see you one more time. ❤️ Please come join us before our final service on September 12th. Come have a drink, enjoy a great meal, and say goodbye to Boneyard the way it deserves. Thank you for 20+ incredible years. — Aaron Robins" Regulars are already filling the comments with memories, first dates, anniversaries, even a former employee who said he met his wife working there.
