Gus was surrendered to the shelter due to his mum dealing with terminal cancer. She wrote him a letter and we read a little bit of it here ❤️

Oh my goodness. This is Gus. Uh, sadly Gus was surrendered to the shelter, uh, because his mama was dealing with terminal cancer. And she was in tears, giving you up, buddy. She wrote a letter for him that I wanted to read out. I've got it here. Hello, my name is Gus. I'm at the shelter because my mum is very sick. And I'm going to miss her. You could be my new family. So I would like to tell you a little bit about me. I love kids, truly. I love kids. And I do really well with cats. And in fact, Gus passed his behavior test here. I'm not going to go over the full there, but she basically said, um, my mum loves me so, so much, but she is having such a hard time with this transition that she wants me to have, um, my forever home and with someone who truly appreciates me and my personality. And the vet said, you're a cat-a-holic mix, is that right? And I know, I know, stress. It's okay. Your tail doesn't stop wagging though. So we're looking for a home for Gus. How old did we say Gus was? Oh my goodness. He's like five years old or something. And you've been well looked after, buddy. Your mum did a great job. I spoke to his mum on the phone and she was, um, in tears because she, uh, had to give him up. Cancer sucks, buddy. It's the worst thing in the world. And I know, um, I know that's just comfort. It's just comfort. Okay, buddy. You ready? Gus loves a treat. He doesn't do well in his kennel. He's like, I'm going to have that in the other room. Gus. What are you doing, buddy? Go ahead.
