🔥 Want to fix your posture? You need BOTH mobility and strength! Improving posture isn’t just about stretching tight areas or strengthening weak muscles. You need to address what’s restricting your movement AND what’s going to control that newfound mobility. 💡 Think of it as a 2-part process: 1️⃣ Get rid of the “glue” → MOBILITY 2️⃣ Build the “workhorses” → STRENGTH + CONTROL When your head stays forward for long periods, your body can adapt to that position and develop various soft tissue and joint restrictions that make it more difficult to move back out of it. These are the “glue-like restrictions” I mention—not literal glue, but a simple way of describing the stiffness and restrictions that can limit your movement. ⚡ But mobility alone isn't enough. Once you improve those restrictions, your body has access to more movement—but your muscles still need to control and maintain that new position. That’s where the “workhorses” come in. 🛠️ Here’s the strategy: ✅ NECK Improve restricted mobility → then activate and strengthen the muscles that help control your head position. ✅ UPPER BACK Restore thoracic mobility → then strengthen the muscles responsible for maintaining better upper-back control. ✅ LOWER BACK Work on restrictions limiting spinal movement → then build muscular strength and stability through that range. ✅ HIPS Restore the mobility needed to position your hips underneath you → then strengthen the muscles that help maintain that position. This helps to combine: MOBILITY → STRENGTH → CONTROL 🔑 And apply that concept throughout the body so you have the movement to get into a position AND the muscular capacity to control it. #Posture #ForwardHeadPosture #Mobility #Strength #NeckPain
