The new Casio G-Shock GMC-2500G-9A might be the standout colourway from the new G-Shock 2500 Series. This is the gold-tone version of the new fully analogue G-Shock design, pairing a gold IP metal bezel and case exterior with a champagne dial and black resin strap. It gives the 2500 a much more premium look, while still keeping that unmistakable G-Shock toughness. You still get the distinctive small-seconds subdial, three-position Multi-Mission Date display, LED illumination, shock resistance and 200m water resistance. The biggest technical talking point is Casio’s new magnetic hand-mounting system, designed so the hands can move under a heavy impact rather than transferring all that energy through the movement. The whole new Casio G-Shock 2500 range is already getting a huge reaction online, with people calling it the “CasioNaut” and comparing its rise to what happened with the CasiOak. But I think this gold version has enough personality to stand on its own.
