The new Casio G-Shock GST-W1000AD-2A has just been announced, and this could be one of the most interesting G-STEEL releases of 2026. Casio has completely reworked the G-STEEL formula with a cleaner, more refined metal design. The new GST-W1000 Series uses a multi-component stainless-steel exterior with four different finishes, while the lugs and bracelet have been designed to flow together much more smoothly. And this blue dial version is the one that stands out to me. The dial uses nano-processing technology from Yamagata Casio to create a three-dimensional texture that changes as it catches the light, while this model also gets a contrasting black IP bezel. Underneath, there’s some serious G-Shock tech too. You get TOUGH MVT.2, which can detect heavy impacts and magnetic interference and automatically correct the hand positions, plus Tough Solar, Multiband 6, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, sapphire crystal and 200m water resistance. It measures 50 × 45.5 × 13.2mm and weighs 138g, so it’s still unmistakably a substantial G-Shock, but visually this feels much more like a proper everyday steel sports watch. The Casio G-Shock GST-W1000AD-2A is due for release in October 2026. If you’re looking at new Casio watches, new G-Shock releases, G-STEEL watches, Tough Solar watches or the best G-Shock watches of 2026, this is definitely one to know about.
