i ate the same food for years when i was in prison. not because i was picky, but because that was all there was. you don't think about what you're missing until you've been without it long enough to forget what it even felt like. freedom becomes a memory, then an idea, then something you stop thinking about altogether. you just survive the day in front of you. 13 years. and now i sit in front of a meal like this and i have to stop myself. because it's easy to just eat it and enjoy it and move on. but i know what it felt like to not have any of this. the food, the table, the people around it, the freedom to walk out the door when i'm done. God didn't have to give any of this back. He gave it all back, and more. that isn't luck or hustle. it's restoration. and i refuse to get so comfortable that i forget what it cost to get here, or Who brought me here. Psalm 103:2 says, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits." forget not all his benefits. i've lived without enough to know exactly what that means. don't wait until it's gone to be grateful for what's in front of you right now. i built the Core of the Heart Daily app to help you stay grateful every single day. daily devotionals, mentorship with me, real scripture, hours of video teachings, plus instant answers rooted in scripture with GospelBot.
