If you work in Construction Management, you NEED to know these software tools 🏗️💻👇 You don’t have to be an expert in all of them, but knowing the basics will put you ahead. 1. Bluebeam 📐 One of the most useful tools in construction. You’ll use it to review drawings, create markups, take measurements, compare revisions and overlay plans. The faster you can navigate a drawing set, contracts, and create markups, the better. 2. Procore 🏗️ Your project documentation lives here. RFIs, submittals, drawings, daily logs, photos, observations and more. As a Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Superintendent, you could be in Procore every day. 3. Primavera P6 + Microsoft Project 📅 Construction revolves around the schedule. Learn activities, durations, predecessors, successors, milestones and the critical path. You may not build the master schedule as a PE, but you NEED to know how to read one and build your own. 4. Microsoft Office 💻 Especially Excel and Outlook. Excel is used for tracking logs, quantities, procurement, manpower, budgets and more. Outlook is where a huge amount of project communication happens. 5. Autodesk 🏢 Get familiar with AutoCAD, Revit and Autodesk’s BIM/construction tools. Even if you’re not in VDC, knowing how to navigate models and understand coordination makes you more valuable - especially on complex projects where coordination is key.
