Every friend group has someone who joined in season 7 and somehow became part of the main cast. They weren't there for the pilot. They weren't there for the initial seasons. They missed a bunch of lore. They don't know half of the people that you guys talk about when you're telling your old stories, but somehow they still fit perfectly. They were written in by the writers. It was a little bit debatable at first. They were a side character. They slowly got more time. And then they were added. They were a full-time member of the cast. And it's funny how friendships work because you still have your original season one friends. They know every version of you. They've seen every piece of the plot. They also know how your character developed over time. They've seen the bad haircuts, the bad decisions. Some of them got cut. Some of them had early exits. And they weren't renewed for another season. Those people all got written off. But then you have these other people that have guest appearances. They show up for one season, maybe season 7. They know a couple other people in the cast. You start to connect more. Then they get added to the group chat. They start going on all the trips. Other people know them. They know your family. They know your friends. They know everybody else. And sometimes even though these people joined way later, they didn't know everybody originally. They basically get caught up on everything over time. They're there for you longer than your season one friends anyways. They're there for you. It's the best. When you get a friend that was originally a side character, but now is officially part of the cast.
