when i'm exhausted, my old habits start looking attractive again. not because i want to go back. because i'm tired. and tired people reach for what's familiar. that's not a character flaw. that's just honest. when the ministry is heavy. when the week has been long. when i've given everything and feel like i have nothing left. the old patterns start whispering. not loud. just quiet enough to sound reasonable. i've learned not to follow those thoughts. because where they lead isn't rest. it's a different kind of empty. what i've learned to do instead is bring it to the Word. not because it's a rule, but because it's the only thing that actually speaks back. the thoughts will come. the whispers will come. exhaustion will come. but i get to choose what i follow. and i've followed my own thoughts enough times to know where they end up. Romans 8:6 says, "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." life and peace. that's what's on the other side of choosing the Word over the whisper. not perfection. just peace. and on the hard days, peace is everything. when the exhaustion hits and the old whispers get loud, you need scripture at your fingertips, not a rule that says you should be reading more. that's why we built the Core of the Heart Daily app. daily devotionals, mentorship with me, real scripture, hours of video teachings, plus instant answers rooted in scripture with GospelBot for the moments when you're too tired to think.
