THE INTERNET MAKES HORSE

The internet makes horse care look like brushing them, feeding them and calling it a day. Anyone who actually works with horses knows it's much more complicated than that. A clean healthy looking horse still needs regular maintenance. First, the hooves. They need to be picked and checked regularly because dirt, stones or other problems can become serious if ignored. Second, the coat. Regular grooming removes dirt, sweat and loose hair, giving you a chance to notice cuts, swelling or unusual changes. Third, don't forget the mane and tail. Leaving them completely tangled isn't exactly a maintenance strategy. And fourth, check the horse's living area. Clean water, suitable feed, clean bedding and a safe environment matter just as much as grooming. Horse maintenance isn't about making an animal look beautiful.
