The internet convinced us that kissing your dog and letting it hump you during play is completely normal. As a dog owner, I can tell you some of this behavior deserves a little more thought. Because sometimes I'm watching an owner and thinking bro, what exactly are we doing here? Dogs don't understand human boundaries the way we do. Licking your face, climbing, mounting you, or getting overly physical during play doesn't automatically mean what a human might assume. Most of the time, it's excitement, attention seeking, stress, or learned behavior. But that doesn't mean owners should encourage every behavior, just because the dog thinks it's fun. Especially when hygiene and personal boundaries are involved. Your dog can love you without needing to be your personal kissing partner. Sometimes loving your dog also means teaching it where the boundaries are. Dog owners, what's the weirdest thing your dog has ever done that made you say, 'Okay, that's enough.'
