HIDDEN HISTORY 🌊: Hurricane-fueled swells slammed Newport Beach’s iconic Wedge, accelerating coastal erosion and exposing long-buried wooden pilings. A local historian believes the wood may be part of a temporary trestle built in 1917 to carry railroad cars loaded with rock for construction of the harbor's first west jetty. #FOXWeather #thewedge #wedge #california #newportbeach #orangecounty #History #us #surf
