Does the iPhone Duo have a crease? - How Nano-Texture Hides the Crease Everyone's been asking the same thing about Apple's foldable: what does the crease look like? Apple's answer came at it from two directions 👇 🔩 THE HINGE Built from more than 100 components. Apple specifically says it supports the center of the display to hold it flat when opened. That's real structural engineering, the same goal Samsung has been chasing for years. ✨ THE NANO-TEXTURE FINISH This is the part nobody's talking about. The inner display has a nano-texture finish, the same idea as Apple's nano-texture monitors. It's a matte surface that scatters light instead of reflecting it, and Apple says explicitly that it "minimizes crease visibility." So Apple isn't just flattening the fold. They're also changing how light behaves so your eye doesn't catch it. 🧪 THE COVER LAYER Foldables can't use rigid glass over the fold, which is why their inner screens scratch so easily. Apple says its custom polymer cover layer has up to 40% higher stiffness than other materials used in the industry. Stiffer resists dents and scratches better, and holds flatter. The adhesives also let the display layers glide past one another "like the pages of a book" to relieve bend stress. ⚠️ THE HONEST PART Nobody outside Apple has lived with this phone. Everything here comes from Apple's own press release and a few minutes of hands-on at the keynote. Independent testing starts October 23. And a matte finish helps you see the crease less, but the fold is still physically there. That's a durability question a surface treatment doesn't answer. Samsung is on their eighth foldable. Apple is on their first. 💰 $1,999. Pre-orders October 16, ships October 23. Does it matter if the crease is still there if you can't see it? Let me know below. 🔔 Follow for the full review when it ships. Source: Apple Newsroom, "Apple unveils iPhone Duo," September 9 2026. All claims are Apple's own; no independent testing exists yet. #iPhoneDuo #Apple #FoldablePhone #NanoTexture #iphoneduocrease
