Wow, what a powerful speech and what an amazing man. It's fantastic to know that regardless of whether people agree with each other or not on fundamental subjects of ethics and morality, war and peace, that everyone is welcome at an Ed Sheeran concert. This is Hector Pieterson, the unarmed schoolboy who was shot dead in 1976 in Soweto, South Africa by a racist apartheid policeman. Now I don't know about you, but I think it's so inspiring that whether you are a schoolboy agitating for democracy for your people, or a racist policeman who thinks that black school children are just cannon fodder, both of you would be welcome at an Ed Sheeran concert. This is Anne Frank who died at the age of 15 in a Nazi concentration camp just because she happened to be Jewish. But it's wonderful to know that whether you think that Anne Frank was an incredible human being who deserved a chance to live, or whether you agree with the Nazis who thought she was vermin who deserved to be exterminated, both of you can come together and agree that Thinking Out Loud is a great song for a wedding. In 1994, half a million Tutsis were murdered in just 100 days during the Rwandan genocide. Now who's to say if that was right or wrong? I don't know. I can't answer complex moral questions about whether entire ethnicities deserve to be wiped from the face of the earth. But it's great that Ed Sheeran believes that whether you think exterminating half a million people is wrong, or whether you're in favor of it and and think we should do that kind of thing more often, you can come together at one of his concerts and dance that song where he's like, fili di, fili di, I met a girl in an Irish bar. Like, music brings people together. It's wonderful. Whether you're a Nazi, whether you're a murdered child, whether you are somebody who's been targeted for your ethnicity and driven from your home, or whether you're a member of the Israeli government who thinks that people in Gaza are just vermin, everyone can, can come together at an Ed Sheeran concert. And I think that's such a powerful message for our age, that you know, we shouldn't let things like morals or things like murder get in the way of, of having a good time and enjoying good music. So thank you for that, that message Ed. I'm sure this is going to save your reputation and everyone will love you again.
