There are a lot of people taking stimulants such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, and they do not know what it does in their body, they only know the feeling of it. So I'm going to explain it in the simplest way and you will get it, I promise. So essentially in people with ADHD, they have lower levels of dopamine and norepinephrine in their brain. Let's just say a normal person has normal levels of norepinephrine and dopamine, and a person with ADHD obviously has lower levels of these two chemicals. The reason why people take stimulants like Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin is because these stimulants are a CNS stimulant, so they stimulate your central nervous system, which is your brain and your spinal cord. And essentially what it does in your body, I'm going to explain it. Let's just picture you're running away from a bear. A bear is coming to kill you. What is the first thing you're going to do? You're going to run as fast as you can. Obviously you don't want to die, right? So when you're running from this bear, there's a lot of things going on in your body that you probably don't even realize. So by default, because I know you don't want to die, your heart rate is going to go up, your blood pressure is going to go up for sure, and your body's not going to have time to digest anything because remember we're running away from this bear. So your body goes, oh my gosh, we're about to die, let's do this as fast, let's run as fast as we possibly can. Your body is now sending everything it has to your limbs, to your legs, to your arms, to everywhere, so you can run and save yourself from the bear. By default your heart rate is going up, your blood pressure is going up, your digestion is slow down because we don't have time, we don't have time. Essentially those three things that I just said are what, you know, Adderall and Vyvanse cause. By increasing the dopamine and the norepinephrine in a person with ADHD, it will help them and allow them to stay focused on one thing, start tasks. I tried to explain that as I was like on. Obviously there's a caveat, if you take too much Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, you will feel like a zombie. Your dosage is way too high, your body obviously needs to have a stabilized level of dopamine and norepinephrine to be able to function properly. And if you take too much, you're obviously going to be like, you're going to look like that. I swear. It is a fantastic medication, I will say, but obviously it is not for everybody because it can make you anxious, it can prohibit, you know, your normal sleep cycle, it can do a lot of other things. It can cause weight loss and other stuff. I hope that was easy.
