Visual artist Jason Cook creates kinetic sculptures and robotic installations using electronics, programming and mechanical engineering. In The Walking Chair (2025), an ordinary wooden chair is transformed into a moving machine. A system of motors, mechanical parts and electronic components is attached beneath the seat, allowing the chair’s legs to move. By giving a familiar piece of furniture the ability to walk, Cook changes the way we perceive an everyday object.
