Restaurant leadership means paying attention to the behavior your entire team is learning. One person cuts corners. One person argues about every expectation. One person keeps bringing negativity into the shift. Your A players notice. They see who gets held accountable. They see who gets a pass. They see how much extra work falls on everyone else. And that frustration can spread. People who used to step up start pulling back. Teammates stop helping each other. The energy changes. Eventually, the guest feels it. Every time you let C-player behavior slide, you’re teaching the rest of the team what’s acceptable. If someone is going through a hard time, have the conversation. Find out what support they need. Give them room to get back on track. You can care about that person and still hold them accountable for how they treat the team. Your responsibility extends to everyone working beside them. The people showing up prepared. The people protecting the guest experience. The people doing the work when nobody’s watching. They deserve your support, too. Protect your A players. Address the behavior. Hold the standard. #RestaurantLeadership #RestaurantManagement #RestaurantCulture #HospitalityTraining
