Ep 6. Toasted Chocolate Chip Cookies! Chocolate Chip Cookie Series 🍪 Ingredients: - 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted - 3/4 cup brown sugar - 1/3 cup granulated sugar - 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk, room temperature - 1/3 cup light corn syrup - 1 tbsp molasses - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 2 cups all purpose flour - 1 tsp cornstarch - 3/4 tsp baking soda - 1/2 tsp salt - 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips Roll into log and chill 4-6 hours or overnight Bake at 375 F for 12-14 minutes Makes 8 cookies Instructions: Start with melted butter, then mix in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until combined. Melted butter lets the sugars and molasses contribute more to the toasted color. Add the egg, extra egg yolk, vanilla, and this recipe’s star guests, corn syrup and molasses. The molasses helps give these cookies that deeper color and flavor, while the corn syrup helps keep the centers chewy. Add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt, then mix just until a dough forms. Then fold in plenty of chocolate chips. You can use any chocolate of your choice, I used semisweet chocolate chips and bar. Instead of scooping individual cookies, roll the dough into a log. Wrap it up and chill for at least 4 to 6 hours, or overnight. Once chilled, slice the log into eight pieces and place them onto a lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 12 to 14 minutes, until the edges are lightly crisp and the centers are still soft. If you have a toaster oven, and you want to achieve the really toasted color, you can give them an extra toast for a few minutes. #baking #chocolatechipcookies #chocolate #cookies #Recipe
