I started cosmetology school 6 months pregnant. And if you're wondering why I would do that to myself... by the end of this story, that won't even make your top 5 questions. At first, everything went exactly as planned. I went to school. Got my hours. Got increasingly more pregnant. Until eventually I had to take my leave. I took 6 weeks off... then went right back to school. So now I was learning how to do hair during the day... and fighting for my life in the newborn trenches at night. We had childcare figured out. Until we didn't. Our babysitting situation completely fell through. And I couldn't just stop going to school. I had made it this far. We needed another option. Immediately. There was only one person who could help us. My dad. Perfect! Except for one tiny problem... HE LIVED 2 HOURS AWAY. So twice a week... I'd drive 2 HOURS to my dad's... leave my newborn there for 3 DAYS... and drive 2 hours home. I missed him like CRAZY. But it was our only option. And somehow... I MADE IT. After pregnancy, birth, postpartum, a newborn AND the childcare nightmare... I was finally 2 WEEKS from graduation. Then... my period was late. No. Absolutely f*cking not. I JUST had a baby. So I took a test... POSITIVE. I WAS PREGNANT. AGAIN. Completely unplanned. 2 weeks before graduation. I started cosmetology school pregnant... and was about to graduate PREGNANT WITH A DIFFERENT BABY. I GRADUATED. New cosmetology license. New house. New car. Another baby coming. But we were okay. For like 5 minutes.. And the rest that followed literally scarred me for life
