On August 27, 2015, an abandoned refrigerated truck was found along a highway near Parndorf, Austria. A strange fluid was reportedly leaking from the vehicle, which led authorities to take a closer look. Inside, they found 71 people, including 8 women and 4 children. The victims were refugees and migrants who had been transported through Hungary as part of a human-smuggling operation.
