They don't have to count out any THEY DON'T HAVE ANY PILLS, They don't have to weigh anything TO WEIGH ANYTHING. there's nothing to do THERE'S NOTHING TO DO OTHER THAN scan the barcode on SCAN THE BARCODE ON THIS BOX AND LET ME AND LET ME PAY FOR IT TO THE PHARMACY. They are fully staffed THEY ARE FULLY there is not another customer IS NOT ANOTHER CUSTOMER THERE. There is no one there waiting THERE IS NO ONE THERE WAITING. They're not on the phone with THEY'RE NOT ON THE PHONE WITH ANYONE. nothing is going NOTHING IS GOING It's just two people sitting at a TWO PEOPLE SITTING AT A COMPUTER. computer. I walk up and I'm like UP AND I'M my doctor called in a script" MY DOCTOR CALLED IN A SCRIPT. asked me for my birthday FOR MY BIRTHDAY. and they proceeded to ask me for PROCEEDED TO ASK ME FOR MY my first name, MY LAST NAME, my last MY LAST NAME, my social security MY SOCIAL SECURITY number and my address NUMBER AND MY ADDRESS to be able to look me up ABLE TO LOOK phone number wasn't good enough PHONE NUMBER WASN'T I DON'T KNOW. with the prescription WITH THE PRESCRIPTION sitting in front of them on the computer screen SITTING IN FRONT OF THEM ON THE THE COMPUTER SCREEN. They then go back and forth with THEY THEN GO me for about 15 minutes over BACK AND FORTH OVER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OVER WHAT IT IS. She walks to the shelf she picks SHE WALKS TO this up off the shelf THE SHELF. SHE PICKS THIS UP She walks back and she goes SHE WALKS BACK AND SHE GOES, look at that. LOOK AT THAT. we have it. WE HAVE IT. This is where THIS IS WHERE I'm thinking, oh, I'M THINKING, OH, just gonna get to pay for it GET TO PAY and go AND GO, IT'S NO She looks at me and she deadass AT ME AND SHE DEADASS SAYS, It'll be ready IT'LL BE READY in about 15 minutes" IN ABOUT 15 MINUTES. YEAH, okay OKAY. and I sit in the little row of SO I GO AND I SIT IN THE LITTLE ROW OF CHAIRS AGAIN. chairs there's no one else there THERE'S NO ONE ELSE THERE. I sit and I wait I SIT AND I WAIT FOR for not 15 minutes NOT 15 MINUTES, but 30 BUT 30 MINUTES. but 30 minutes. I say nothing I SAY NOTHING. They do nothing THEY DO NOTHING IN THIS 30 MINUTES. To me, it appears nobody TO ME, IT APPEARS NOBODY DOES ANYTHING. does anything. After 30 minutes, I finally get up, AFTER 30 MINUTES, I FINALLY GET UP, I really have to go um I REALLY HAVE TO GO. UM, Don't you think, DON'T YOU THINK, sitting there, SITTING THERE, maybe I could pay for it and COULD PAY FOR just leave? IT AND JUST LEAVE? She looks at me and she goes SHE LOOKS AT ME AND SHE GOES, it'll be another five BE ANOTHER FIVE MINUTES. for what FOR WHAT? I'M I'm Ethan and I'm a pharmacist and I worked in retail pharmacy for 12 years so let's talk about it. I think really the moral of the whole story is that the world in the pharmacy does not revolve around you. We can't just pull a prescription off the shelf and slap a label on it is that there are many steps to it. Also, when it comes to prescriptions, there are usually several before you, especially for people who may be going online and reordering a refill or calling in a refill or doctors are sending in prescriptions are gonna be coming straight from the doctor's office looking for their prescription to be ready. The process of refilling a prescription is multiple steps. First, we have to refill it, then it has to be verified by the pharmacist, then it gets printed out, then it has to be filled, and then the pharmacist has to recheck it. But again, this is happening for several other prescriptions that were called in or sent in before yours. This is why if you are gonna be complaining, wait for a prescription, especially if it's a refill, just call it in and most likely it will be ready time you get there.
