I’m convinced some people think Rasta Pasta just means “add bell peppers to Alfredo.” 😂 Nah. The sauce needs heat, seasoning, depth and enough jerk flavor to remind you what dish you’re eating. Rasta Pasta Ingredients 1 lb penne pasta 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder 1 cup reserved pasta water 3 bell peppers, assorted colors, sliced Extra virgin olive oil 1¼ cups heavy cream, plus more if needed 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder ½ tsp coarse black pepper 1 tsp Old Bay 2 tsp smoked paprika 1 packet Sazón ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan Handful of scallions, diced Small handful of fresh parsley, diced 3 tsp jerk sauce Directions Bring a pot of water to a boil, then stir in 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder. Add the penne and cook al dente. Reserve about 1 cup pasta water before draining. Heat a little extra virgin olive oil in a skillet. Add the sliced bell peppers and cook until softened. Pour in 1¼ cups heavy cream and bring it to a light boil, then reduce the heat to medium low. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, Old Bay, smoked paprika and Sazón. Mix until the sauce changes color and begins to thicken. Add the pasta and toss until completely coated. Stir in a little reserved pasta water until the sauce grabs onto the pasta and reaches the consistency you want. Add the freshly grated Parmesan and mix until melted and creamy. Stir in the scallions, parsley and 3 tsp jerk sauce. Turn off the heat, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve immediately. #pasta #jamaica#pastape #food #foodtiktok
