China-based Surreal Puppet Studio is a Sino-Belgian duo creating experimental works that combine puppetry, physical theatre, dance and visual art. In Life is a Struggle, a distorted human-like face appears trapped inside a transparent plastic structure. As the material contracts, stretches and presses against the puppet, its expression continuously changes. Instead of hiding the mechanism, the artists make the physical manipulation part of what we see. The puppet seems to be constantly struggling against the material surrounding its body, turning a simple mechanical action into an expressive performance. #art #artist #niche #scary #horror
