Artist and designer Kleinian creates what he calls “Modern Archaeology”: physical artifacts that imagine how today’s digital culture might survive thousands of years into the future. He takes real stones and transfers familiar digital images onto them (Artvangarde)smartphone interfaces, Google Maps, Spotify, video games and computer screens. The surfaces are then distressed and sealed, making recent technology look like something excavated from an ancient site. The contrast is deliberate. Digital technology becomes obsolete incredibly quickly, while stone can survive for millennia. By turning pixels into apparent fossils, Kleinian asks a fascinating question: What would future archaeologists understand about us from the technology we leave behind? #art #artist #avantgarde #design #niche
