I got my FIRST call on Be My Eyes, and I genuinely hope more people hear about this app. 🥹❤️ If you’ve never heard of Be My Eyes, it’s a FREE app that connects blind and low-vision people with sighted volunteers through live video calls. When someone needs help seeing something, they can call a volunteer who uses their phone camera to help them out. It could be reading an expiration date, identifying an item, checking a label, or finding something they need. Things most of us do without a second thought can sometimes require a little extra help for someone else. And the best part? You don’t need any special skills, a ton of free time, or even to leave your house. You can be sitting on your couch when a call comes through. If you’re available, you can answer and help someone out. ❤️ Today, I got my first call, and it reminded me how much we take for granted every single day. Sometimes we don’t realize how much the little things matter until we get the opportunity to see them from someone else’s perspective. As a Christian, I’m always looking for little ways to love people the way Jesus calls us to. Sometimes we think serving others has to look like something big, but sometimes it’s simply being willing to show up for a stranger you’ve never met. You never know what a few minutes of your time could mean to someone else. 📱 Be My Eyes is FREE to download, and anyone can sign up to volunteer! I hope this encourages even one person to download the app and be willing to answer that first call. ❤️ Have you heard of @Be My Eyes before?! #BeMyEyes #LoveLikeJesus #ActsOfKindness #spreadkindness Visually impaired, giving back, be my eyes, Christian mom, mom of four, family of God
