Your foot placement on the leg press matters more than you think! 🦵🔥 Ever wondered why some people place their feet high, low, wide, or close together on the leg press? They’re not necessarily doing different exercises, but small adjustments can change how the movement feels and which muscles receive more emphasis. Here’s what you need to know before your next leg day! 👇 🍑 HIGH FOOT PLACEMENT Placing your feet higher on the platform can increase hip involvement and shift some emphasis toward your glutes and hamstrings, depending on your range of motion and technique. 🔥 LOW FOOT PLACEMENT A lower position can increase knee involvement, making the movement more quad-focused. Just make sure your heels stay planted and your knees feel comfortable. 💪 WIDE FOOT PLACEMENT A wider stance may increase involvement of your inner-thigh muscles (adductors). Keep your knees tracking naturally in the direction of your toes. ⚡ NARROW FOOT PLACEMENT A closer stance can feel more quad-dominant for some lifters. Don’t force your feet too close if it limits your movement or causes discomfort. But here’s what really matters: Foot placement changes emphasis — it doesn’t completely isolate one muscle group. Your range of motion, individual anatomy, training intensity, and consistency all play important roles. ✅ Keep your back and hips supported against the seat. ✅ Push through your entire foot, not just your toes. ✅ Lower the weight slowly and maintain control. ✅ Choose a stance that feels natural for your hips and knees. ✅ Progress gradually instead of loading more weight than you can handle. Remember: You don’t need to make every leg day complicated. Master the basics, focus on your technique, and build strength over time. That’s where real progress happens. ❤️ 📲 Workit App helps you stay consistent with your fitness journey through guided workouts, personalized fitness tools, progress tracking, and rewards for staying active.
