BREAKING NEWS A zoo in Yorkshire has been closed following a "serious incident" at a tiger enclosure

Emergency services are on the scene at a wildlife park near Doncaster after a man reportedly entered a tiger enclosure. Witnesses say shots were fired and that members of the public were quickly asked to leave the zoo. Well, let's bring in our correspondent Anjum Peerbacos who is in the newsroom for us this afternoon. Anjum, this sounds like an alarming and quite extraordinary incident. What more detail do you have? Absolutely, Rob. And this afternoon, we know that the emergency services were called to Yorkshire Wildlife Park at about half past one, and they were dealing with this incident where they've said that a man has entered the tiger enclosure. And obviously, there is a concern in such a situation, and they have had to since close the wildlife park to the general public. And we've seen that there have been ambulance services on the scene dealing with the situation, and we know that a man has entered the tiger enclosure. And obviously, everything that you can imagine about that situation would be incredibly alarming for all those that would have been at the wildlife park on a Saturday afternoon. We've had a statement from Yorkshire Wildlife Park Resort, and they have said that they can confirm that a serious incident has occurred today at the tiger enclosure, and our emergency response procedures were immediately activated, and emergency services are currently attending the scene. We are working closely with the authorities to ascertain exactly what happened. They've also said the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and animals remain our highest priority, and the park is now closed and will remain closed tomorrow. So as we can see from that statement, there's no kind of real detail about the incident itself and the details of the man that was that was involved in the incident, but obviously the whole area now is in a situation where they are dealing with this emergency and are ensuring that people who are in the vicinity are kind of escorted off the premises and obviously the safety of everybody involved is of paramount concern.
