Valve's unreleased game just passed Team Fortress 2's all-time record on Steam. Deadlock reached 262,145 players at the same time on October 9, according to SteamDB. Team Fortress 2's best was 253,997, set in July 2023. Among Valve games, only Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 have ever peaked higher. The record came the day Valve released Solomon, a chess-themed hero and the third of six new heroes in the City Never Sleeps update. Valve still describes Deadlock as "a multiplayer game in early development", with access "limited to friend invite via our playtesters." No release date has been announced. Checkmate, and the game isn't even out. Gameplay: Pirate (YouTube) #deadlock #valve #steam #teamfortress2 #gaming
